June 13, 2024The teaching room of the headquarters of the CNR National Institute of Optics will be dedicated to Fortunato Tito Arecchi on the occasion of the ceremony on 12 June at 11 am during which the new plaque will also be inaugurated in memory of the famous scientist who, starting from 1975 for 25 For years he has directed the Institute, making it an internationally renowned driving force in the field of laser studies and optics in the broadest sense of the term.
Professor emeritus of Physics at the University of Florence, he was a pioneer of Italian laser physics studies, a field in which he achieved international celebrity. But his interests, marked by an enormous curiosity for every aspect of physics, have also ranged, for example, over complex systems, chaos, and visual perception.
