Riccardo Meucci, Cnr Ino Senior Associate, was awarded the honor of Cavaliere della Republica for scientific merits on Sunday 2 June, in Piazza della Signoria, on the occasion of the ceremonies celebrating the 78th Anniversary of the Foundation of the Republic.

The celebrations began with the flag raising ceremony, at 10 am, in the presence of the highest city, civil and military authorities. After reading the message of the President of the Republic, the ceremony continued at the Arengario, with the awarding of the Honors of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic, awarded by the Head of State to those who have distinguished themselves for having acquired merit in their lives work, in activitiescarried out for social and humanitarian purposes or for the commendable services carried out in civil and military careers.

The reason for the recognition to Riccardo Meucci indicates “Senior Associate at the National Institute of Optics of the National Research Council, over the years he has held important positions and carried out an intense teaching activity, both nationally and abroad. During his long and brilliant career he has also achieved significant results at an international level, offering his significant contribution to the scientific community through numerous publications in authoritative international journals”.
