May 17, 2018The 2018 René Pellat prize, awarded from the French Physical Society to a PhD thesis in plasma physics, goes to Anna Grassi for the thesis “Collisionless shocks in the context of laboratory astrophysics”. The thesis work, mostly dedicated to the design and simulation of experiments based on high-power lasers and generating “extreme” astrophysical conditions, has been performed in the framework of an agreement between the University of Paris Pierre et Marie Curie, under the co-supervision of Caterina Riconda (UPMC), Francesco Pegoraro (UniPI e CNR/INO) and Andrea Macchi (CNR/INO).
