The quantum technology for magnetic sensing and imaging based on fluorescent spins (NV centres) in diamond has recently emerged thanks to the excellent combination of sensitivity and space resolution, operability over large ranges of temperatures, biocompatibility, and possibility of miniaturization, which make it particularly promising for a wide range of applications, from navigation to biomedicine.
