The Italian National Institute of Optics (CNR-INO) and Visia Lab Srl are pleased to announce the start of their collaboration and the establishment of a Joint-Lab intended for collaborative research activities in the field of Digital Pathology within the Arcetri (Florence) headquarters of CNR-INO.

The joint laboratory merges the skills of the CNR-INO research group in advanced optics, electro-optics and artificial intelligence and those of Visia Lab in image acquisition and processing for laboratory diagnostics (IVD) and in robotics applied to the instrumental automation of the medical-clinical laboratory.

The main objective will be the creation of new optical solutions combined with electro-optical systems and new IT methods for data processing and sharing in order to increase the performance of current diagnostic systems.

Both parties are confident that this collaboration will lead to important medical and scientific achievements useful for the health system and for the community.
