Abstract: The goal of the project is the study of innovative subsystems for spatial applications, integrated into pivoted panels. In particular, the research aims at developing a photovoltaic unit with holographic concentrators, a highly innovative thermal control system, and an embedded structural diagnostic system based on fiber optic sensors. The proposal meets the need for new design strategies aimed at reducing the weight and cost of satellite platforms through the development of functionalized structures equipped with all the subsystems needed for proper operation of satellites, such as power supply units and thermal load management.
