Abstract: We studied the X-ray emission from laser plasmas produced by irradiating thick solid Fe targets with 1.064 mum Nd-laser light at intensity up to 1.2 . 10(13) W/cm2 with 3 and 20ns pulses. Measurements include X-ray signal dependence on energy and focusing of laser light; X-ray pin-hole pictures of the plasma; time duration of X-ray emission.
