Telescope optics of Montanari, Cellio, Campani and Bruni at the “Museo della Specola” in Bologna

Abstract: Optics of telescope makers Montanari, Cellio, Campani and Bruni housed at the “Museo della Specola” in Bologna have been tested withstate-of-the-art equipment. The most significant findings are reported, and insights into the early stages of development of telescope optics are given.
