First published on the web on “PNAS” journal (Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the USA) DOI: 10.1073/pnas.1110676108 and selected as recent highlights in the Physics section the paper on the 3D lithography. The work presents a new method useful for rapid curing of the liquid instabilities at the nanoscale. The fabrication of many solid microstructures exploitable in electronics and photonics is demonstrated, thus leading to a new concept in 3D lithography. The applicability of specific structures as optical tweezers by Bessel beams and as novel remotely excitable quantum dots–embedded WGM microresonators are presented.
