Quantum simulation allows to face complex problems inaccessible to numerical computation. An example is shown by a work carried out by the National Optical Institute of Cnr and Lens of Florence, together with Cnr-Iom and the University of Trieste and Bologna, published in Advanced Quantum Technologies. The project aims to improve the performance of quantum cascade lasers for new applications, from medical diagnostics to environmental monitoring.
