Abstract: A general introduction on the importance of high precision laboratory measurements in the FIR for molecules of atmospheric interest is briefly given. The latest experimental configuration of the Tunable Far Infrared (TuFIR) spectrometer operating at LENS, in Firenze, Italy, is described. Several different applications of this apparatus to spectroscopic measurements are discussed. They include the latest results of Stark spectroscopy on highly reactive asymmetric top molecules of atmospheric interest, in order to measure transition dipole moments and to estimate the intensity of lines expected in atmospheric spectra.
