Abstract: Sandhoppers are able to perceive UV-A, and orient using at least one celestial cue (probably sky polarization) in that spectral range. The sun is the main orienting cue and apparently helps the talitrids to distinguish between the two directions(sea-land) of the Y axis on the beach.
