Speech by: FRANCESCO CATALIOTTI (CNR NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF OPTICS), QUENTIN DEPLANO (RESEARCHER IN PHYSICS UNIV FLORENCE) on the second NQSTI meeting
ABSTRACT: A new tool explores the boundary between classical and quantum physics thanks to a collaboration between the University of Florence and CNR. It is an optical trap that observes phenomena typical of both physics. In 2025, the importance of quantum science will be celebrated. see the interview
UNESCO Launches International Year of Quantum Science with Innovative Showcase by NQSTI
Paris, 5 February 2025 — UNESCO kicked off the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology (IYQ) with a vibrant Opening Ceremony held at its headquarters in Paris. Among the highlights of the two-day celebration was an engaging exhibition by the National Quantum Science and Technology Institute (NQSTI), featuring the dynamic QTRIS project and an interactive virtual quantum laboratory.
The display captivated attendees and demonstrated the exciting possibilities at the intersection of quantum research, art, and culture. UNESCO extended its heartfelt appreciation to NQSTI, commending the team’s creativity and vision. Among the standout contributors was Diana Tartaglia of CNR-INO, whose expertise and dedication played a key role in the success of the exhibition. see more
