Ottobre 18, 2023The Italian National Institute of Optics (CNR-INO) and the Italian Space Agency (ASI) are pleased to announce the launch of a Joint-Lab on Space Oriented Quantum Technologies (Laboratori congiunti ASI-CNR nel settore delle Quantum Technologies – Progetto QASINO).
This initiative aims at promoting collaborative research activities in the field of Quantum Technologies and Space Applications. It involves the CNR-INO headquarters in Arcetri and the sections in Sesto Fiorentino, Naples, and Trieste, and the ASI Space Center “G. Colombo” in Matera.
The Joint Laboratory merges the knowledge and skills of several CNR-INO research groups in advanced infrared and THz photonics, diamond-based quantum sensors, non-classical sources for sensing and communication. The Project has a duration of 3 years, and was officially launched last October 2nd, 2023, with a kickoff meeting in Arcetri.
This collaboration will strengthen the interaction between the two institutes, and will boost both fundamental and applied research in the cited fields of advanced photonics and quantum technologies, also allowing for dissemination and scouting activities towards possible follow-ups and industrial deployments of the results.
