A new real-time imaging technique was developed at the ultracold gases laboratory of the BEC Center in Trento. Such a technique allowed to study the 3D dynamics of single vortex filaments in a Bose-Einstein condensate, observing both the orbital motion around the center and the gyroscopic motion about the BEC symmetry axis [ PRA 96, 053605 (2017) &#8211; Editors\u2019 Suggestion, Synopsis in Physics ].
