{"id":27260,"date":"2026-10-01T10:18:37","date_gmt":"2026-10-01T08:18:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ino.cnr.it\/?p=27260"},"modified":"2026-10-01T10:18:37","modified_gmt":"2026-10-01T08:18:37","slug":"the-economy-of-light-the-talk-in-florence-as-a-preview-of-the-2027-science-festival","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ino.cnr.it\/?p=27260","title":{"rendered":"The Economy of Light: the talk in Florence as a preview of the 2027 Science Festival"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The talk \u2018The Economy of Light\u2019, organised and curated by <strong>Firenze Fiera<\/strong> as part of <strong>Bright Night<\/strong> in collaboration with <strong>Il Sole 24 Ore, the University of Florence<\/strong>, <strong>CNR-INO<\/strong>, <strong>INAF<\/strong> (National Institute for Astrophysics), <strong>INFN<\/strong> (National Institute of Nuclear Physics), <strong>INRI<\/strong> (National Institute of Metrological Research) and <strong>LENS<\/strong> (European Laboratory for Non-Linear Spectroscopy).<\/p>\n<p>The event marked the first step on a journey that will lead, in May 2027, to the launch of a <strong>new festival dedicated to science and light<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The meeting, which featured a presentation by<strong> Alessandro Zavatta on behalf of CNR-INO<\/strong>, highlighted how research into light is being applied in key sectors of the Tuscan economy: <strong>energy and photovoltaics, health and diagnostic imaging, advanced microscopy, the analysis of works of art and quantum computing<\/strong>, thereby generating tangible economic value for the region.<\/p>\n<p>The talk opened with institutional addresses by Lorenzo Becattini, President of Firenze Fiera, and Marco Pierini, Vice-Rector of the University of Florence, and was moderated by Filomena Greco, a journalist with Il Sole 24 Ore.
