{"id":26065,"date":"2025-08-11T22:32:05","date_gmt":"2025-08-11T20:32:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ino.cnr.it\/?p=26065"},"modified":"2025-08-13T10:15:58","modified_gmt":"2025-08-13T08:15:58","slug":"the-ginoux-meucci-chua-model-new-perspectives-for-nonlinear-dynamics-in-memristive-circuits","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ino.cnr.it\/?p=26065","title":{"rendered":"The \u201cGinoux\u2013Meucci\u2013Chua\u201d Model: New Perspectives for Nonlinear Dynamics in Memristive Circuits"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A new dynamical system, named <strong>Ginoux\u2013Meucci\u2013Chua<\/strong>, has been recently proposed to describe \u2014 within a single mathematical framework \u2014 the continuous transition between two fundamental behaviors of nonlinear dynamics: <strong>the relaxation oscillations of the Van der Pol model<\/strong> and <strong>the celebrated double-scroll chaotic attractor of Chua\u2019s circuit<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Published in <em>IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems I<\/em>, the work involves <strong>CNR-INO emeritus researcher<\/strong> <strong>Riccardo Meucci (Optica Fellow 2025)<\/strong>, together with <strong>Jean-Marc Ginoux, Roberto Concas, Eugenio Pugliese, and Leon O. Chua<\/strong>\u2014one of the world\u2019s leading experts in nonlinear circuits, a pioneer in chaos theory, and the conceptual originator of the memristor.<br \/>\nThe proposed system is described by a set of three ordinary differential equations with a single cubic nonlinearity. To validate the model, an electronic circuit was designed to faithfully reproduce the theoretical behavior, analyzed through <strong>SPICE simulations<\/strong> and physically implemented on an <strong>FPAA (Field-Programmable Analog Array) platform<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The Ginoux\u2013Meucci\u2013Chua model emerges as a new paradigm for memristive circuits, offering a minimal yet powerful platform to explore dynamic transitions between order and chaos. This versatility opens new application perspectives in:<br \/>\n&#8211; <strong>Neuromorphic circuits<\/strong>, thanks to the ability to generate rich dynamics and internal memories characteristic of neuronal processes<br \/>\n&#8211; <strong>Chaotic cryptography<\/strong>, where the controllable transition to chaos can be leveraged to produce complex and unpredictable signals useful for secure communications.<\/p>\n<p>This research represents a significant international contribution in the field of complex systems and emerging technologies, confirming the central role of Italian research \u2014 <strong>and CNR in particular<\/strong> \u2014 in the study of nonlinear dynamics and the innovation of advanced analog circuits.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Citation:<\/strong><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/ieeexplore.ieee.org\/document\/11044876\">https:\/\/ieeexplore.ieee.org\/document\/11044876<\/a><br \/>\nJ. -M.
