A week of events, bridging science, art, and outreach<\/strong><\/h5>\n

Once again this year, the CNR National Institute of Optics enthusiastically joins the celebrations for the International Day of Light<\/em>, promoted by UNESCO every May 16th to highlight the role of light and photonic technologies in science, culture, and society.<\/p>\n

May 16 \u2013 Rome, Enrico Fermi Center<\/strong>
In Rome, Paolo De Natale <\/strong>and<\/span> Elisabetta Baldanzi<\/strong>\u00a0take part in the\u00a0Co-Visions<\/em>\u00a0initiative, part of the\u00a0Enlighting Mind<\/em> cultural program, in collaboration with CNR, University of Florence, IDIS Foundation-Citt\u00e0 della Scienza and the Enrico Fermi Center.\u00a0The event will feature the exhibition of innovative design objects, interactive exhibits and contemporary artworks that, through their form and function, narrate fascinating optical phenomena, establishing a dialogue with the permanent installations and the history-rich spaces of the Museum.\u00a0More information\u00a0here<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In Milan, Alessandro Farini<\/strong>\u00a0will speak at the conference organized by the Italian Lighting Association (AIDI)<\/strong> for the Day of Light with a talk on\u201cThe role of visual perception for inclusive lighting\u201d. <\/em>(link<\/a><\/strong>)<\/p>\n

Also, on May 16, Andrea Macchi<\/strong> will deliver a talk entitled “Surfin’ Plasma Waves and Sailing with Light: The Sea of Laser-Driven Accelerators” at the Lights of Tuscany event, organized in Pisa by AISF students\u2014an opportunity to celebrate ten years of CNR-INO\u2019s involvement in this vibrant student network. May 17 & 23 \u2013 Pisa, CNR-INO, ILIL & DyS<\/strong>
The CNR-INO Unit in Pisa will host two groups of students from AISF for the Lights of Tuscany<\/em> initiative. On May 17, Federica Baffigi<\/strong> and Andrea Fioretti<\/strong> will lead the visit of 45 students to the ILIL (Intense Laser Irradiation Laboratory)<\/strong> and DyS (Laboratorio Disprosio)<\/strong> facilities. A second group will be hosted on May 23, continuing CNR-INO\u2019s commitment to promoting research with young people.<\/p>\n

May 18 \u2013 Turin, Salone del Libro<\/strong>
Maja Colautti<\/strong> will give the talk “Ma che Quanto ci faccio?” as part of the Comics & Science<\/em> program, offering a fresh and creative perspective on scientific storytelling. Her participation highlights INO\u2019s active role in national science communication initiatives. (link<\/strong><\/a>)<\/p>\n

May 19\u201321 \u2013 Pint of Science, Pisa<\/strong>
CNR-INO will participate in Pint of Science<\/em> with a talk related to the NQSTI project<\/strong>, held in the informal and engaging atmosphere of a local pub. A perfect chance to share the wonders of quantum science with a broad audience.<\/p>\n
