{"id":23302,"date":"2024-04-27T17:30:32","date_gmt":"2024-04-27T15:30:32","guid":{"rendered":"\/?p=23302"},"modified":"2024-04-30T10:01:20","modified_gmt":"2024-04-30T08:01:20","slug":"frontier-trace-gas-sensors-addressing-industrial-challenges-for-environment-health-safety-and-security","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ino.cnr.it\/?p=23302","title":{"rendered":"Frontier trace gas sensors addressing industrial challenges for environment, health, safety and security"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Frontier trace gas sensors addressing industrial challenges for environment, health, safety and security<\/strong> is a new Demo Centre organised by CNR-INO on <strong>June 17th<\/strong>, 2024 by CNR-INO as part of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.photonhub.eu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>PhotonHub Europe<\/strong><\/a> project.<\/p>\n<p><strong><br \/>\nGas monitoring (industrial, medical, and environmental) <\/strong>requires sensitive, fast, and reliable measurement systems, and optical technologies can provide different effective solutions, targeted on specific applications.<\/p>\n<p>The Demo Centre is a one-day course offering <strong>training on different state-of-the-art spectroscopic techniques for trace gas sensing<\/strong>, combining interactive tutorials with hands-on experiences.<br \/>\nThe course will be divided into four main part:<br \/>\n&#8211; Introductory tutorial on basic principles of spectroscopy and key-interest applications.<br \/>\n&#8211; Interactive tutorial and practical laboratory demonstration on the principles of operation of photoacoustic sensors and their applications (Demo 1).<br \/>\n&#8211; Interactive laboratory experience on absorption spectroscopy for monitoring and safety matched with a practical hands-on demonstration for measuring CO, CO2 and CH4 in air or breath (Demo 2).<br \/>\n&#8211; Interactive tutorial and hands-on training on the Saturated-absorption CAvity Ring-down (SCAR) 14C analyser, and its applications for industrial purposes (Demo 3).<\/p>\n<p>The course targets a broad audience and mainly <strong>producers potentially interested in the exploitation of spectroscopic gas sensing solutions for industrial applications <\/strong>in different fields, such as <strong>health diagnostics, environmental monitoring, and security surveillance<\/strong>. A background in spectroscopic methods is not essential, although it might be advantageous.<\/p>\n<p>The course will take place in the morning at the CNR-INO laboratories in Florence, and in the afternoon at the Sesto Fiorentino laboratories.
