Abstract: In the field of space technologies, the recent availability of operational platforms for Earth observation and the possibility of using avionics demonstrators for the deployment of new instrumentation make possible the development of new technologies and new products and services, resulting in the creation of qualified job positions
To pursue this opportunity, the project CTOTUS brings together five partners from Tuscany with a proven track record in aerospace partnership that creates the complete chain of skills: from technical and scientific knowledge to the product to users, through the development of instruments. In the next two years the project will pursue the following operational objectives:
1. Innovative devices (creation of sources and detectors capable of improving the performance of spatial instrumentation).
2. Analysis of space technologies (study and optimization of instrumental possibilities for future missions).
3. Identification of methodologies for observation from space through avionics demonstrators (identification of innovative methods of observation from stratospheric aircrafts with long endurance flights).
4. Development of processes for data analysis (physical models and new processes for the generation of products with high added value).
Each of these activities will be enhanced by knowledge of the boundary conditions that is provided by the other activities. This cultural and structural strengthening, which is essential for improving international competitiveness, is supported by numerous training and dissemination activities (courses in higher education, workshops, participation in events).
The added value of the consortium, which will be demonstrated by CTOTUS, will be the instrument for further action at the end of the project.
