Abstract: We are working on the overtone molecular detection using diode lasers emitting between one and two microns. We have used a multimode double heterojunction InGaAsP diode laser emitting at 1.2 µm for detecting a second overtone of HCl. A derivative signal at 1 Torr (P(3) component) is presented. A pressure broadening dependence for the same component is shown. Other measurements have been performed on a first overtone of NH3 at 1.65 µm using an InGaAsP distributed feedback laser. Detection limits are presented in presence of air at different temperatures.
