Abstract: We propose a new denoising algorithm in off-axis Digital Holography (DH) based on l(1) norm minimization. The aim of our work is to assess a general denoising scheme of digital holograms, i.e. we do not explore prior knowledge of the statistics of the digital holograms. For this purpose, we consider different experimental conditions such as a digital holograms recorded in microscope configuration and lensless configuration. We use the inherent sparsity of the numerical reconstruction of digital holograms in order to optimize the in-focus digital reconstructions. For this reason, we call the proposed algorithm SPADEDH (SPArsity DEnoising of Digital Holograms). We perform also a display test, by using a Spatial Light Modulator (SLM) as a projection system, for the digital holograms recorded in lensless configuration. In both numerical reconstruction and display test, the improvements of the SPADEDH algorithm are computed.
