Abstract: In this paper the realization is described of CO2 laser with high energy (almost-equal-to-10J/pulse), long pulses (almost-equal-to-2-mu-s) and narrow bandwith (almost-equal-to 200-kHz), using suitable discharge device (Lumonics 602) and cavity configuration (modified self-filtering unstable resonator). The theoretical considerations which led to these choices are also discussed and the results obtained are shown.
